SINAI 2/3
White Canyon and Colored Canyon at Nuweiba
From Dahab we
drove to Nuweiba. It is about 70 km through the mountains. The road was of
very
good quality, but we had
to stop several times to admire the rocks and the mountains.
We had a two hours
walking tour in White and Colored Canyon around Nuweiba. It is a marvelous
place, do not miss if you
are in Nuweiba. We went by 4x4, and hired the car, driver and guide
in a small restaurant in
Nuweiba. The guide was called Ahmed, and he new the area very well.
It is not
possible to do this tour
alone, because on Sinai there are still lots of mines
since the war with Israel.
White Canyon. The water, wind and sunshine formed caves and holes in the rocks. |
This part of the canyon was 'easy' to walk.
|
Some sections of the path
was really wide. |
Ahmed showed us
the beautiful rock formats. |
We stopped several times, and Gabor took lots of pictures. |
The walls of the canyon is becoming more colorful ......, |
...more higher..., | ....more narrow. |
This is Ahmed's sleeping place, his pillow is made of stone. :) :) :) |
Sometimes we had to climb
through blocking rocks, or narrow holes. |
The formats reminded us laces. The artist is called NATURE. |
In the end we
arrived in a wide valley and had to climb up the last rocky hill.
|
We arrived back to the 4x4 car at sunset. Our driver was
waiting for us.
|
One our later it was completely dark. The picture was
made in Nuweiba. The silver road through the sea, and the silhouettes of Saudi Arabia was fabulous. |
