SOUTHERN AFRICA 2004

On this day we mainly traveled, with few stop, with specific point of interest, but the country itself was interesting.

In North Botswana elephants are roaming everywhere.

They were eating bush, and made quite a good noise by doing that.

It was quite easy to spot them among the bushes.

This kind of grassland was very typical in North Botswana.

The roads in Botswana are of good quality.

Another two elephants, hiding among the bush

Nice 'brother' trees.

We were careful where and when to get off the car, as there might be animals around.

The skin of this large baobab.

A modern building in Francistown.

A street with shops. Francistown has 92.000 inhabitants.

This is the modern mall in Francistown.
The old frontier town since the 'gold rush' has become an important trading center.

This was our next camp.
Camp Itumela in town Palapye.

The camp was very quiet, nice, and with fantastic plants.

Even the toilet itself was a garden.

This was the nice African style camp bar.
