This was a long traveling day, with not too much interesting things to see.
However we have taken few photos, which are worth to show here.
Our route was: Hazyview - Johannesburg - Bloemfontein - on the Karoo higland road 'N1'
Karoo Highveld (=highland) is dominated by the lofty mountains and rolling plains, it is a desert-like landscape, with few towns, villages. We were driving on this day 1350 km (this was our longest driving).
Long Tom is the name of this cannon, used in the Anglo-Boer wars. This replica stands at the Long Tom pass between Lydenburg and Sabie in the Eastern Transvaal. |
