Tsumeb (town in North Namibia) has a well-developed and maintained road network

The "Garden Town" of Tsumeb has 15 000 inhabitants, and mining industry is the main profile

Tsumeb has a subtropical climate, with very hot summers and mild winters.

An important roadsign:

BEWARE OF THE FALLING METEORS

The world's largest meteorite was found on the farm Hoba in North Namibia close to  town Grootfontein.

The meteorite consists of 82.4% iron, 16.4% nickel and 0.76% cobalt. As you see the magnet is stuck to it.

The meteorite weights appr. 53 tons and has a measures 2.95 by 2.84 meters.

It was declared a national monument in March 1955 but despite the fact still suffered from vandals over the years.

A Herero woman in Grootfontein. The traditional dress (which is derived from the Victorian age) consists of an enormous crinoline worn over several petticoats and a horn shaped hat.

Grootfontein is very green, the many subtropical plants can be seen in all their their colorful splendour.

A very interesting tree with aerial roots above me...

A pretty baobab tree Okavango was the first really wide river we have seen. Before it enters Botswana, the river drops 4 m in a series of rapids, known as Popa Falls.
This was our Popa Falls Camp. Kids tried to sell firewood for tourists around the camp.
